End-of-tenancy cleaning: ready for the inspection
Your tenancy is ending, the landlord or housing association is coming to inspect, and you want your deposit back. We do the final clean of the empty home and work through the points from your pre-inspection one by one. Afterwards you get photos of every room, useful as evidence at the inspection.

What the landlord looks for in the final clean
At the final inspection, the landlord or housing association walks through the home with a list. They look at exactly the spots a normal clean tends to miss: grease in the cooker hood and on the tiles, limescale on the taps and the shower screen, stains in the toilet, dust on radiators and window frames, dirt in the corner where a cupboard stood for years. If they find something there, the cleaning costs can come out of your deposit.
We work with that list in mind. If you have a pre-inspection report, send it along with the free cleaning check. We add the points to the job and go over them with you afterwards. Already living in your new home? Then we agree how we get the key, and you get photos of every room so you can see how we left the place.
What we do in an end-of-tenancy clean
The home is empty, so we can reach everything, and this is what we always include.

Kitchen degreased
Cooker hood, filters and wall tiles degreased, oven and microwave cleaned, tap and sink descaled. Landlords often look inside the cupboards too: tick the inside of the cupboards in the cleaning check.

Bathroom and toilet
Tiles, grout, shower screen, washbasin and toilet descaled and cleaned. Light mould removed and the ventilation grilles cleaned.

Radiators and window frames
The dust out from between the radiators, and window frames, windowsills, doors and skirting boards wiped down. Exactly the spots an inspector runs a finger along.

Everyday marks
We carefully remove stickers, tape, glue residue and marks around switches and sockets.

Floors right into the corners
All floors vacuumed and mopped, including along the skirting boards and where furniture used to stand.

If the report mentions something specific, such as the windows or the inside of the cupboards, we add it to the job.

Does the landlord reject the handover on cleaning points that were part of the job? Report it within 48 hours of the inspection and we'll come back free of charge to put it right.

Let us know the date of the inspection and we'll schedule the clean before it. We work 7 days a week, also at short notice.

When is the best time to book the end-of-tenancy clean?
As close to the inspection as possible, once all your belongings are out. We can clean an empty home most thoroughly, and no new dirt gets added afterwards. Enter the handover date in the free cleaning check and we'll make sure we're finished in time.

Do I need to be there during the clean?
No. Many tenants have already moved into their new home by then. We agree how we get the key, and afterwards you get photos of every room. If you're not there at the end, you pay for the clean in advance.
Do you work through the points from the pre-inspection?
Yes, we'd be glad to. Send the report along with the photos in the cleaning check. Everything that has to do with cleaning, we add to the job. If the list also includes small odd jobs, just ask and we'll see what we can take on.
